Bibata Ibrahim Maiga, Sahadatou Ami Touré and Marcelle Kabran, dancers and AMA grantees, travelled from Bamako, Cotonou and Abidjan (respectively) to Dakar to participate in a residency at the Centre Culturel Blaise Senghor (January 20-February 2).

Bibata, Ami and Marcelle are part of a new generation of young dancers and choreographers that are spreading the power and message of dance across West Africa.

Bibata, Ami et Marcelle font partie d’une nouvelle génération de jeunes danseuses et chorégraphes professionnelles qui font rayonner leur art en Afrique de l’ouest.

Hafedh Zalit, dancer-choreographer and AMA grantee, travelled from Tunis (Tunisia) to Bamako (Mali) to lead a Masterclass as part of Project Berka 174. He was hosted by Karemba Studio dance company from January 13 to 19.

Kadidja Tiemanta, dancer and AMA grantee, travelled from Bamako (Mali) to Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) to participate in this year's edition of Dialogues de Corps festival, hosted by the Centre de Développement chorégraphique La Termitière from December 14 to 24, 2018.

"I have successfully gotten a lot of experience from different choreographers and that has made me grow more with my skills and artistic work. I learned several lessons, such as: Modern African Dance and Germaine Acogny’s Technique from two different teachers, Alesandra Seutin and Raouf Tchakondo; Contemporary Dance with Karin Vyncke and Sophiatou Kossoko; African Contemporary Dance by Nora Chipaumire; and finally finished with Patrick Acogny with same African Contemporary Dance and Deconstruction of patrimonial dances.

Justine Akouir Mireille Akaba and Yvonne Gladys Tchuimo, both dancers based in Yaoundé, Cameroon, are currently in Brazzaville to participate in the Festival International de Théâtre, danse et cirque au Congo (FITHEDAC) (September 30 – October 11, 2015), where they will perform a contemporary dance piece titled « Plus femme que femme ».
