Edith Weutonga returns today from Bagamoyo, Tanzania to Harare, Zimbabwe. She was in Bagamoyo from October 23 to October 30 to participate in the Bagamoyo International Festival of Arts and Culture.

Amina Omar Juma, Abdulrazak Abubakar Abdulrazak and Rahma Hassan Ameir of Siti & the Band are travelling from Zanzibar, Tanzania to Lagos, Nigeria today to participate in this year's edition of Felabration! festival.

"On the 11th and 12th of December, we all participated in a festival Fusion Africa which took place at Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe. We, the Mozambican participants had a 45 minutes’ performance where we perfomed various Marrabenta classics. We also had the opportunity to play with Dudu Manhenga who sang the popular Fanny Mfumos song, Avhassaty. We also had one of the trainers William Ramsay playing with us the famous Motherland by Jmmy Dludlu. We also had Blessings from Zimbabwe on drums and Sandersonplaying ten bass guitar.

Maputo-based music educators and AMA grantees Nicolau Napure Feliciano Cauaneque, Americo da Conceição Dinis and Terencio Alberto Tovele are currently in Harare, Zimbabwe to participate in the music education workshops of the Teacher Training Campus organized by the Global Music Academy (December 1-14, 2015).

Mauritanian rap artist Mohamed Kourouma (aka Franco Man) is currently in Casablanca for the urban music festival L’BOULEVARD (September 11-20, 2015).

A socially engaged rapper, Mohamed Kourouma uses his microphone to spread messages of unity and peace and to denounce the various forms of ethnic and racial discrimination that run rampant in his home country. He seeks to use his voice, his technique and his flow in the name of all oppressed peoples from Mauritania and beyond.

Today, AMA grantees Bonaya Doti Ibrahim, Salad Dibi Duba and Fatima Jarso Guyo will travel from Nairobi, Kenya to Stone Town, Zanzibar to participate in the 12th edition of the Sauti za Busara international music festival (February 12-15).

Today, the members of Collective Afreekyama (Lehchili Mostepha Amine, Labib Benslama, Hamza Oualid) travel from Algiers, Algeria to Accra, Ghana for a month-long stay during which they will be exploring the local music scene and creating fusion music with Ghanaian musicians.
