Dwayer International Workshop was the first of its kind in Alexandria, Egypt. It brought women from different nationalities working on various aspects of visual art together for interactive platforms, where great ideas were shared and discussed.
The highlights of the workshop were culturally based, where women from totally different cultures worked on different ideas, for example electronic medias’ influence on art. In this case most women used computers as a tool of art production, which is unlike the traditional ways of producing artworks. The workshop was successful and ended with an open day exhibition for the public on the final day. Through this workshop I learned that art is no longer a male domain, as was perceived before, because the women’s workshop was a great success.
