The third edition of the Guide to funding opportunities for the international mobility of artists and culture professionals – AFRICA is now online thanks to the research of Art Moves Africa, the support of the Institut français and the coordination of On the Move.
The main objective of this cultural mobility funding guide is to provide an overview of the funding bodies and programmes that support the international mobility of artists and cultural operators from Africa and travelling to Africa. It also aims to provide input for funders and policymakers on how to fill the existing gaps in funding for international cultural exchange. In doing so, it hopes to contribute to the development of a more efficient and fair funding system that can ensure more sustainable support for cultural mobility to and from Africa. A total of 129 funding organisations and 183 funding schemes related to Africa are listed in this guide.
Art Moves Africa and On the Move wish to thank the Institut français for supporting this third edition. A warm thank you also goes to Lara Bourdin for her research and editing work on the second edition and this updated version.
