Learning about South African communities and how similar they are to Zimbabwe. How to work and collaborate with 2 other artists from different parts of the world, with South Africans’ participation construct something we all were happy with. Learning more ways to work with communities as well as being able to work with professional artist on the same project and achieving the same impact from both parties. As a collaboration team our focus on the work was people and to work with at least 70 people minimum, time was very little and working with a group from the township was challenging. Because we worked with each group on specific putting fitting the whole thing together was better. We were asked to do 2 performances each day which was a challenge energy, physically and mentally so we made 2 different rituals, the morning consisted of the preparation for the afternoon and the afternoon was like the main one. Time was not enough to really go deep into the subject matter as much as we would have loved to do. What we created in the end was like a beginning and to follow it up would be great as it would give the participant a broader picture of where the whole work could be taken. I hope there is room to be able to do a follow up exersice with the groups especially from the township as this would build their skill as people while at the same time give them information on how they can work towards becoming professional artists if they choose to become one. There is a huge need to keep the community/ township performing artist abreast with the activities in the field as well as on how they can be able to achieve bigger things and this is through the accessibility of important/ vital information.
