AMA wishes to congratulate the grantees of Session 23 (September 2012).
Of the 36 eligible applicants considered by the AMA Selection Committee, eleven were awarded grants:
1. Constance Nonceba Didi (South Africa)
A Cape Town-based actress, to participate in the International Festival of Theatre for Children and Adults (FATEJ) hosted conjointly by Theatre du Chocolat and ASSITEJ in Douala, Cameroon, from 9 to 12 November.
2. Yvette Hardie (South Africa)
A Cape Town-based theatre director and producer, to participate in the International Festival of Theatre for Children and Adults (FATEJ) hosted conjointly by Theatre du Chocolat and ASSITEJ in Douala, Cameroon, from 9 to 12 November.
3. Gugu Dlamini (Swaziland)
An actor and playwright based in Manzini, to attend the Conference on Creative Economy organized by the Arterial Network Senegal and ADAFEST in Dakar, Senegal, from 13 to 18 November.
4. Rocca Gutteridge (Uganda)
A sculptor, artist, and co-director of 32º East | Ugandan Arts Trust based in Kampala, Uganda, to conduct a research trip at Nafasi Art Space in Tanzania from 27 November to 2 December.
5. Philippa de Villiers (South Africa)
A writer, poet, and performer based in Johannesburg, to attend the launch of poetry anthology No Serenity Here and conduct various other professional projects in Accra Ghana, from 8 to 19 December.
6. Kossiwa Nadège Ametogbe (Togo)
A Lomé-based dancer, to participate in a workshop with the students of the Brussels-based Performing Arts and Research Training Studio at the École des Sables in Dakar, Senegal, from 26 December to 24 February.
7. Catherine Douglas (Zimbabwe)
A Harare-based dancer and choreographer, to participate in a workshop with the students of the Brussels-based Performing Arts and Research Training Studio at the École des Sables in Dakar, Senegal, from 26 December to 24 February.
8. Michele Adelenkomp Ndjongui (Cameroon)
A Douala-based dancer, to participate in a workshop with the students of the Brussels-based Performing Arts and Research Training Studio at the École des Sables in Dakar, Senegal, from 26 December 2012 to 24 February 2013.
9. Monica Mpambawashe (Zimbabwe)
A Harare-based writer, to participate in the FEMRITE workshop hosted by the Ugandan Women Writers’ Association in Kampala, from 13 to 26 January 2013.
10. Bolaji Odofin (Nigeria)
A Lagos-based writer, to participate in the FEMRITE workshop hosted by the Ugandan Women Writers’ Association in Kampala, from 13 to 26 January 2013.
11. Dounia Benslimane (Morocco)
A cultural operator based in Casablanca, Morocco, to attend the Conference on Creative Economy organized by the Arterial Network Senegal and ADAFEST in Dakar, Senegal, from 13 to 18 November.
