Yaoundé-based curator Aude Christel Mgba will travel to Casablanca today to take part in the curatorial training program “Madrassa” organized by NGO L’Atelier de l’Observatoire between October 5 and 9.
Since the beginning of her studies in art at the Institut de Formation Artistique in Mbalmayo, Cameroon, Aude Christel Mgba has devoted her life and career to the arts scene through extensive participation in exhibitions, festivals and conferences. She namely participated in the curatorship of the Salon international de l’Artisanat du Cameroun in February/March 2014 and the Rencontres d’arts visuels de Yaoundé (RAVY) in April 2014. Since February 2015, she has been working as the coordinator of Rencontre, a web-based platform of exchange between professional artists, teachers and students in the visual arts.
Madrassa is a regional program aiming to facilitate exchange and training for curators. In its first year this year, it will bring together regional and international professionals in the objective of thinking collectively about contemporary curatorial practices. Aude Christel Mgba looks forward to the program as her first concrete training in curatorship and as a means to think deeper about several questions around new curatorial approaches linked to highly specific contexts. The training will be particularly relevant to her work for Rencontre.
AMA wishes Aude a safe journey and a fruitful stay in Casablanca!
