Mary Mutinta Manzole travels today from Lusaka (Zambia) to Johannesburg (South Africa) to participate in the 10th annual Drama for Life Conference at Witwatersrand University (28 November-8 December).
Mary Manzole is a Theatre for Development (TFD) practitioner and trainer, a social worker, cultural consultant and community animator based in Lusaka. Over the course of her career, she has specialized in facilitating workshops and programmes in popular theatre, gender and development, good governance and various human rights methodologies for youths and professional theatre practitioners. She is currently the General Manager for the Kilimanjaro Film Institute Zambia (KFIZ), an audio-visual training centre in Zambia catering especially to talented youths from challenging backgrounds that have little or no chance of formal training or employment.
Drama for Life is an annual conference and festival that brings together academics, art researchers and practitioners to explore new ways of research in the art particularly in Applied Drama and Theatre. Mary looks forward to the networking opportunities as well as for the exchanges that will take place during the conference sessions. Upon her return to Lusaka, she plans to organize a two-day session at KFIZ to share her experiences.
We wish Mary a very fruitful stay in Lusaka and safe travels!
