Elisangela Rita is currently in N’Djamena to participate in the African Cup of Slam Poetry (5-10 November).
A poetess since her teenage years and a spoken word artist since 2013, Elisangela is a vital leader of Angola’s spoken word scene. She has performed, MCed and published widely in Angola and abroad, participating in such events as TedxLuanda, the Literary Festival of the Peripheries of Rio do Janeiro, Harare International Festival of the Arts and the Spoken Word Project Africa. Since 2015, she has been the producer of the country’s only spoken word competition, “Luanda Slam”.
Elisangela will be attending the African Cup of Slam Poetry as an ambassador for her country, Angola. She is looking forward to boosting her career as a cultural producer, connecting with other artists from across the continent, and representing her country and its spoken word scene.
We wish her much success for her trip to N’Djamena and safe travels!
